Responsible for managing customer requests through the Mission Control software and assisting the customer with all aspects of the patient transfer process. Requires an extra mile customer service attitude and commitment to resolving all requests in a timely and professional manner. This may include finding a destination for the patient, calculating the recommended transportation method, coordinating with all transportation assets and agencies as directed by the customer, and maintaining communication with all parties. Operators will also play a critical role in the BedFinder process, which includes contacting hospitals for the bed availability and assisting hospitals in finding bed placement as needed. Candidates for this position must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, adept in managing multiple software applications and associated workflows. The ability to problem solve and communicate effectively while maintaining the highest standard of customer service is required for success.

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following**:

* Receive all incoming Mission Control requests and coordinate the transport in its entirety with a wide array of medical facilities and transportation agencies.

* Communicate with hospitals to ensure accurate information and timely service.

**Additional Job Requirements**

* Regular Scheduled Attendance

* Compliance with policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook, and any established company Policy and Procedures

* Ability to work 12-hour shifts 3 days a week on a rotating schedule

* Provide excellent customer service in a timely, professional, and respectful manner

* Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling <5%

Subject to applicable laws and Air Methods policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Air Methods employment practices and policies.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

**Qualifications**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. **Education & Experience**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* 1-2 years dispatch experience or experience with medical terminology used by Emergency Medical Technician or CNA

* Ability to present a professional tone on the telephone and radio

**Skills**

* Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and has a strong attention to detail

* Advanced customer service and phone skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude

* Ability to take and relay reports accurately

* Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels

* Call center, 911 operator, or similar work experience preferred

* Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

* Knowledge of medical transportation preferred

**Computer Skills**

* Intermediate with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Outlook
