Omni Aerospace is a leading aerospace manufacturer and aircraft parts supplier. We are a precision manufacturer and distributor of Machined, Electrical and Electro-Mechanical Components and systems. Omni Aerospace is seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our warehousing team.
Job Summary: The individual in this role is to assist with warehouse operation. This includes verifying quantities and receiving aircraft parts, scanning documentation, and stocking parts. Additionally, it involves packaging parts for shipment, processing shipment labels and file documentation accordingly.
Responsibilities
• Pick and prepare parts for shipment based upon a daily demand
• Verifies and maintain records for daily shipments
• Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
• Receive and verify part quantities, verify documentation, and enter information into company database; reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager.
• Confirms inbound receipt information against packing list or vendor paperwork and inspects receipts for damage or shortages
• Ship and package parts using identified practices to ensure parts arrive at end destination safely and undamaged
• Utilize vendor portals and shipping systems to create shipping authorizations prior to shipment and packaging
• Perform pick-ups and or deliveries to suppliers for parts and raw materials using company vehicles.
• Communicate with 3PL carriers to arrange for shipment and delivery of packages
• Perform cycle count for verification of part number and quantity, and accurately record information into database.
• Maintain inventory of shipping supplies to ensure no outages
• Communicate articulately with management and other team members on shipping/receiving-related concerns
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows all safety policies or regulations
• Perform other warehouse functions as needed or assigned by manager
Requirements
• Maintain a professional and friendly attitude when communicating with vendors and internal customers.
• Ability to use telephone, computer, and copier/scanner
• Familiarity with navigating the internet
• Must be able to safely operate forklift
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably JobBoss or similar system
• Experience with warehouse shipping and receiving is preferred but not necessary.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing demands throughout the day
• Must possess valid driver's license, have proof of insurance and have a clean DMV report.
• Able to frequently to lift or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6+hours a day)
• Must be certified to operate forklift and other warehouse machinery as needed to perform job tasks. Forklift training is provided by Omni.
