Position Title: Crane Operator

Location: Prestressed Concrete, Newton, KS

Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years old

Position Type: Full-Time, Experienced

Description:
As a Crane Operator at Prestressed Concrete, you will be responsible for operating cranes to handle and move precast/prestressed concrete products and similar materials. Your role will involve safely and efficiently picking up, transporting, and placing heavy concrete components according to project specifications. You will need extensive experience in crane operation, particularly in handling large and heavy materials, and a thorough understanding of crane mechanics and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate cranes to lift, transport, and place precast/prestressed concrete products and other heavy materials.
• Conduct pre-operation checks and routine inspections of crane equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
• Understand and interpret blueprints, load charts, and project specifications to execute precise lifts and placements.
• Work closely with project managers, riggers, and other team members to ensure accurate placement of materials and adherence to safety protocols.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and operational procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep detailed records of crane operations, including load weights, hours of operation, and any maintenance or repair activities.
• Address minor mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the crane in optimal working condition.
• Verify load stability and secure loads properly before lifting to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a recognized crane operator training program is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience operating cranes (Mi-Jack, Travel Lift, etc), with a strong background in handling precast/prestressed concrete or similar heavy materials.
• In-depth knowledge of crane mechanics, load charts, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications accurately.
• Proven track record of safe crane operation and adherence to safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with team members and project stakeholders.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of crane operation and maintenance.
