Job Details

Equipment Field Mechanic Responsibilities and Qualifications:

* Diagnose and repair heavy and light construction equipment in the field, including loaders, excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, and trucks

* Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime

* Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using proper diagnostic tools

* Communicate effectively with superintendents and shop personnel regarding equipment status and needs

* Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation of work performed

* Ensure safe work practices and maintain a clean and organized service truck and work area

* Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

* CDL preferred but not required

Equipment Field Mechanic Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, field technician, or similar role

* Strong mechanical knowledge, including hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines, and welding/fabrication skills

* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software

* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
