Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial 's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of structural analysis (e.g., materials technology, finite element modeling, static analysis, fatigue analysis, damage tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, vibration analysis, structural testing, etc.) to determine structural adequacy for customer requirements and regulatory compliance; and to collaborate on structural design, manufacturing, and post-delivery of products.
Key Job Responsibilities
Assist in the development of solutions to technical problems at the program or business unit level
Apply knowledge of engineering methods and tools to the solution of problems of wide range, difficulty and complexity
Support the integration of cross functional issues (cost, weight, schedule, safety, technical issues) into the product
Research and develop material and processes from abstract concepts to functional products.
Develop concepts from preliminary ideas through product life cycle.
Lead or assist with preparing and presenting technical reviews
Lead or assist in the development of technical training programs
Periodically work special assignments
Collaborate with technical experts regarding approach to complex analysis tasks.
Qualifications
Requirements
Bachelors of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering or other related course of study obtained from an ABET accredited Engineering program
Experience in a stress or structural analysis engineering classification / position
Level 1: 0-2 years of experience
Level 2: 2-5 years of experience
Level 3: 5-10 years of experience
Level 4: greater than 10 years of experience
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships
Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Must be able to work on-site in Wichita, KS

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range:
Level 1: $63,300 - $97,050
Level 2: $74,750 - $114,600
Level 3: $94,350 - $144,6560
Level 4: $118,750 - $182,100
