Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial 's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
As the operation process expert, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc.
Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and implementing them within operations.
Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposals
Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines
Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Teams to coordinate with include: Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operations
Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles
Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects
Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff
Qualifications
Required:
3 - 5 years of experience [OR a bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience] in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support
High level of understanding in manufacturing of Sheet Metal assembly
MS office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
Active listener and willing to learn
Degree is not required
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment
Self-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure
Familiar with RCCA
Project Management experience
Experience with SAP
Understanding of fabrication and/or assembly build processes and sequencing
Experience in Continuous improvement and Manufacturing Support
Familiarity with drilling and fastening parts
Experience with SAP and MES
Bachelor's Degree or Trade School certificate is preferred but not required

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $59,450 - $91,150
