The Waterjet Operator is responsible for effectively and efficiently operating a high-pressure water jet to process and produce high-quality products, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction throughout the company. Responsibilities. Load and unload materials and parts, prove programs, operate controls, set offsets, deburr, and inspect quality parts for conformance to requirements on a water jet. Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Ensure production rates are met or exceeded. Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine, within capabilities, controls, or control media as required to ensure the quality of productions. Report all machine malfunctions. Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
