Deli Cashier

This position is responsible for taking and filling all food and drink orders with proper food handling and sanitation standards and making the guest experience enjoyable in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:

• Greeting guests in a professional manner, explaining the menu, specials, taking their food orders in a timely manner.
• Complying with all food and beverage, health, liquor, and safety regulations.
• Completing all side work, closing/opening duties in a timely manner.
• Having knowledge of menu prices and food composition; promotions; proper cash handling; and department policies and procedures.
• Ensuring all logs, work ups, and food orders are made within specifications and compliant with company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for positive outcome of health and gaming inspections.
• Responsible for their individual banks to ring up orders.
• Handling paperwork as required by company policies and procedures.
• Being professional and courteous with guests when handling unexpected situations, finding solutions that ensure customer satisfaction with minimal financial impact on F&B operation.
• Working as a team with Deli Cashiers in producing a smoothly and efficiently run shift.
• Communicating effectively with co-workers, management, and guests.
• Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job qualifications to perform this job successfully include:

• High school diploma or GED preferred. One (1) year of previous food serving or hosting experience required.
• Ability to get and keep a Food Handlers Certification.
• Solid understanding of restaurant and catering operations.
• Reliability, punctuality, and cooperation with co-workers and managers.
• Maintaining a professional and even-tempered demeanor in a high-stress environment.
• Ability to work in areas containing high noise levels and second-hand smoke.

Language and communication skills include:

• Speaking and communicating effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
• Ability to verbally communicate using appropriate English standards of language.

Mathematical skills include:

• Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.

Licensing must qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, state, federal, and/or Wyandotte Nation law.

Physical requirements include:

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50# (fifty pounds) in emergency situations.
• Ability to function in a smoking environment.
• Employee smoking is restricted to outside location and during break times.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Noise levels in the work environment are constant.
• Ascend/descend flights of stairs to access office and break areas throughout the work day.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the entirety of the shift as required to conduct normal assigned duties.
• Efficiently function in an environment with blinking/blinding lights.

Job type: Full-time, Part-time. Pay: $13.00 per hour. Restaurant type: Fast casual restaurant, Quick service & fast food restaurant. Weekly day range: Weekend availability.
