Description:

Join a dedicated team performing essential functions to admit, pre-admit, update status, and transfer patients within a busy medical facility. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all individuals encountered.

Essential Functions

  • Collect all necessary demographic data, verify insurance eligibility, obtain assignments and signatures to admit or pre-admit patients while adhering to State and Federal guidelines, maintaining a 98% national accuracy rate.
  • Notify Financial Counselors regarding private pay or patients with uncertain credit or insurance status.
  • Distribute admission paperwork promptly to relevant departments and staff.
  • Assist with patient transport as needed, serving a diverse patient population from newborns to geriatrics.
  • Comply with HIPAA privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and deductible amounts according to insurance eligibility programs and contracts.
  • Process patient payments and complete daily deposits accurately.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
  • Basic clerical, computer, and keyboarding skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.
  • Previous clerical and computer experience preferred.
