Salary and Benefits:

  • Base Salary GL-9/GS-11: $63,148 - $120,145 per year, with locality pay varying by duty location.
  • Potential for overtime pay of up to 25%.
  • Eligibility for recruitment incentives up to $20,000 and retention incentives up to $40,000 over the first four years.
  • Promotional opportunities as you advance through the career ladder from GL-9 to GS-11 to GS-12 upon successful completion of required timeframes.

Duties Include:

  • Monitoring and questioning individuals suspected of immigration violations and inspecting documentation.
  • Conducting surveillance and apprehending individuals violating immigration laws.
  • Patrolling and enforcing laws across borders and coastal areas using various government resources.

Qualifications:

GL-9 Requirements: One year of specialized experience in a law enforcement capacity, including:

  • Conducting thorough searches for weapons and contraband.
  • Working alongside law enforcement to apprehend law violators.
  • Maintaining proficiency in investigative procedures and firearms.

GS-11 Requirements: One year of specialized experience in a law enforcement role with law enforcement authority, executing duties such as:

  • Leading investigations to track illegal activities.
  • Utilizing technological tools for surveillance and apprehension.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with primary residency for at least three of the last five years.
  • Candidates must be under the age of 40, with some exceptions based on previous law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is essential, with training provided.
