Of Counsel Attorney

2026-01-12     Hannon De Palma     all cities,AK
Description:

You became a lawyer to help people through the hardest chapters of their lives. Not to drown in admin work, chase down support staff, or build systems from scratch. We get it. The Role You'll join us as Of Counsel—which means you're part of the team with all the benefits, but you keep your autonomy. No micromanagement. No pointless meetings about meetings. What you will do: the actual practice of law. You'll stand in courtrooms and make arguments that matter. You'll draft motions that move cases forward. You'll negotiate settlements that let families move on. You'll handle property division and parenting schedules with the kind of skill and empathy that turns chaos into closure. You'll help people part ways with their dignity intact. That's the work. What's Already Built • A team that has your back (support staff, fellow attorneys, people who answer when you call) • Real systems that actually work • 100% remote flexibility • The freedom to practice law without the nonsense Requirements • Active New Jersey bar license • 8+ years practicing family law • Must reside in New Jersey If you're tired of the grind and ready to do meaningful work with people who respect your time and talent, let's talk. Responsibilities: • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action • Work closely with your paralegal to ensure seamless communication to all stakeholders Qualifications: • A bachelor's degree with a legal background and a J.D. degree are required • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Must have at least 8 years of experience as a Family Law attorney or relevant work • Since we are remote, except for court hearings, you must be sufficiently self-motivated to perform your job remotely • Able to manage a caseload of 30-40 and keep moving the cases forward to completion • Strong history of successful litigation and satisfied clients
