An experienced professional is needed to join a growing Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing team. This is a full-time, direct-hire role with a flexible hybrid schedule, based out of the Newport News, VA office.
What You'll Do
- Lead mechanical engineering scope for equipment and piping systems across food, bioprocessing, oil & gas, chemical, power, manufacturing, industrial, and shipbuilding facilities.
- Perform conceptual design, system sizing, equipment selection, stress analysis (CAESAR II, NozzlePro), and review of piping deliverables.
- Guide design teams, manage project deliverables, and oversee construction administration.
- Ensure compliance with IBC, ASME, API, PIP, NFPA, and other applicable codes.
- Support field inspections, RFIs, construction documents, and cost/value engineering efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- 8 years industry experience.
- PE license (or ability to obtain within one year).
- Background in Design/Build or EPC projects.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications - Pipe stress analysis experience (CAESAR II).
- Experience with retrofits, upgrades, HVAC, and plumbing for industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, PIP, API.
- Leadership experience managing personnel and projects.
