The salary range for this position is $325,000.00 to $375,000.00 annually. At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and any offer extended will take into account your skills, relevant experience, if applicable, education, certifications, and other essential factors. Mass General Brigham International (MGBI) represents a systemwide initiative to provide leading clinical care to patients, advisory services, and Transformational Partnerships to our customers from around the world. This exciting business initiative combines a broad set of existing capabilities, with a new focus on integration. With a significant investment in this program, MGBI plans to enhance patient and customer experience by developing and improving the services offered to destination patients and driving broad-based business growth.

The Vice President Business Development & Growth will have primary responsibility for revenue and growth and will lead all business development activities. Working collaboratively with MGB International's leaders and others throughout the organization, you will be responsible for shaping and executing a unified go-to-market inclusive of products, pricing, and positioning. This includes creating and executing a comprehensive business development strategy to identify, cultivate, and close complex, large-scale international partnerships. This is a critical leadership role that requires an expert in navigating long sales cycles, building trust with high-level government and healthcare leaders, and seamlessly integrating internal clinical, research, and educational capabilities into client-facing solutions.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Business Development & Market Expansion
    • Develop and execute a robust business development strategy for MGB International focused on: 1) Growing the Patient Services and Advisory Services businesses; 2) Growing, identifying, and securing large-scale transformational partnerships.
    • Lead the entire sales lifecycle including proactive prospecting and lead generation, channel management, pricing, negotiations, and closing
    • Lead the development of MGBI's country/region planning and go-to-market strategy including service offering development and positioning
    • Work closely with the MGB Marketing Team to coordinate marketing strategy and execution
    • Establish and manage a structured and prioritized pipeline of target opportunities and provide regular reporting on progress against growth targets and key performance indicators.
    • Act as a highly visible ambassador for MGB International, building and nurturing long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in target markets.
    • Be a visible representative in global markets broadening MGBI's reach and establishing & reinforcing MGBI's market position
  • Organizational Integration & Internal Collaboration
    • Working closely with the MGB International President, and in collaboration with VPs for PS and Advisory, and TP lead, serve as a liaison between MGB International and the broader organization.
    • Create with VPs for PS and Advisory, and TP lead formal and structured processes for engaging with internal leaders-including doctors, educators, researchers, and administrators-to ensure their expertise is leveraged effectively in the sales process while minimizing disruption to their core responsibilities.
    • Collaborate with existing teams to integrate the international patient services and advisory businesses into a single, cohesive, and efficient business development function.
    • Work closely with the President of MGB International Business to align all business development activities with the organization's overarching global mission and strategic priorities.
    • Directly supervise the MGB International Business Development team
    • Establish and lead all aspects of sales operations
    • Serve as a focal point for connectivity with the broader MGB system with VPs for PS and Advisory, and TP lead to ensure the best of MGB is brought to every business development opportunity and relationship
    • Identify and leverage broader MGB system resources and clinical capability to efficiently and effectively support field teams
    • Oversee the development of the payer & broker engagement strategy working closely with the Managed Care Contracting team
    • Oversee the development of MGBI's marketing plan working closely with the MGB Marketing Team to coordinate marketing strategy and execution
    • Manage risks proactively by identifying potential challenges and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
    • Completes or manages special projects for senior leadership to promote strategic initiatives both internal and external to the department.
    • Work closely with VPs for Patient Services and Advisory, and TP lead to establish and implement processes ensuring coordination between sales and operations teams for different service lines.
    • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's required; advanced degree strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in complex, consultative business development, with significant experience in the healthcare or professional services sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying, cultivating, and closing multi-million dollar, long-term international deals with governments and/or large organizations.
  • Prior experience operating within a large, matrixed organization, ideally an academic medical center, with a focus on healthcare.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and drive results through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal -with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of international markets, cultural nuances, and the geopolitical landscape of global healthcare.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
