Position Summary:

Join our team as a Structural Project Engineer, where you will play a vital role in designing innovative solutions across multiple projects. In this position, you will lead and collaborate with design professionals to ensure engineering excellence for our clients. You'll leverage BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and advanced computer-based tools in a dynamic work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project completion in line with quality assurance policies, standards, and project specifications.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans and drawings to meet industry standards.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct engineering design and coordinate with project teams to ensure compliance with building codes and specifications.
  • Provide guidance to the Project Manager by identifying and communicating potential project risks promptly.
  • Perform and direct design computations utilizing both hand and computer software methods.
  • Apply your experience and knowledge to make informed decisions that enhance project outcomes.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, ensuring timely completion while overseeing delegated tasks.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Design Team to fulfill design requirements across various projects.
  • Conduct quality control reviews at critical project milestones.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers.
  • Engage in business development by fostering client relationships and seeking new opportunities.
  • Additional projects and duties may be assigned as necessary.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in engineering documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in defining project requirements, setting scopes of work, assessing design budgets, and reviewing contracts.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Experience with CAD and modeling software including:
  1. AutoDesk Revit
  2. AutoDesk AutoCAD
  3. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  4. Bluebeam Revu
  5. RISA/RAM
  6. Enercalc
  • Knowledge of codes, regulations, and specific design components such as:
    1. Structural Design & Calculations for Buildings
    • Load Path Analysis
    • Lateral Analysis (Seismic and Wind Load)
    • Lateral Force-Resisting Systems
    • Structural Elements Design (beams, columns, joists, slabs, walls, and foundations)
  • Experience with various structural materials and systems, including Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Wood.
  • Knowledge of Storm Shelters, Deep Foundation Systems, Precision Equipment/Machine Foundations, and Building Condition Assessments.
  • Experience in Structural Repair/Retrofit of Existing Buildings.
  • Education and Experience:

    • B.S. Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college is required.
    • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant engineering experience.

    License and Certification:

    • A Professional Engineering (PE) license in the location of practice is required.
