Material Handler & Preventative Maintenance Assistant

Central Plains Steel, a division of Reliance, Inc., is seeking a dependable Material Handler & Preventative Maintenance Assistant to support warehouse operations and equipment maintenance. This role includes moving and packaging materials, assisting with basic preventative maintenance, operating material-handling equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

Assist with preventative maintenance on equipment in both Plant 1 and Plant 2

Inspect equipment and follow maintenance procedures

Use hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment

Pull, tag, assemble, and package materials based on work orders

Operate forklifts, cranes, and yard trucks (training provided)

Load and unload trucks safely

Perform quality checks and complete accurate documentation

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

Follow all safety guidelines and policies

Required Skills

Valid driver's license (required)

05 years of warehouse, maintenance, or related experience

Ability to lift 60100 lbs and work in hot/cold conditions

Ability to stand for long periods and climb on/off trailers

Basic math and measurement skills

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to obtain equipment certifications (company-provided)

High school diploma/GED preferred

Shift differential of $3.00/hr
