Controller

Weckworth is an established small business headquartered in Haysville, Kansas. We are an industrial textile manufacturer, best known for our federal government contracting work and have produced several thousand national stock numbered (NSN) lines for a variety of federal agencies, large and small OEM organizations, as well as individuals who want to see their product taken from concept to product. With over 250 industrial sewing machines (single needle, double needle, box "X"?, bar tackers and programmables) and several radio frequency, hot wedge and hot fabric welders, we're prepared to manufacture to established product configuration. We also offer a full complement of engineering services. Whether you need design assistance, prototypes or product evaluation, our experienced engineers are ready to put our CAD system to work for you. If a fabric can be cut, sewn, glued, snapped, buttoned, buckled, cinched, clipped, riveted, welded or otherwise bonded, we can fashion it into a product to fit your specifications.

Job Description: Controller Reports To: President/CEO Position Overview The Controller oversees the accounting, HR and IT operations of the company. This position will supervise the accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, preparation and analysis of financial statements and payroll processes. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, attentive, and efficient. He/she can complete work skillfully and independently. The Controller must be good at giving and receiving constructive feedback. Role Responsibilities:

• Documentation Maintain an accounting system of procedures and guidelines to follow. Implement controls to minimize risk. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Reporting Oversee the production of required reports and ensure they meet accounting guidelines and principles. Collaborate with auditors and provide needed information as requested. Produce annual reporting, budgets, and forecasting.
• Financial performance review Manage accounting budget and system, which has low risk due to controls set in place. Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations as requested or required.
• Lead Manage personnel in the accounting, human resources and information technology departments. Create and deliver annual performance evaluations for the respective teams and provide guidance/leadership as needed. Initiate employee discussions when discipline is required.

Required Skill Sets:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum five (5) years of combined related accounting and leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines
• A record of improving financial results

Office Hours: Mon-Thurs. 7:30am 5:30pm & Friday 7:30am to 11:30am.
