Manufacturing company that specializes in industrial lubricants, in Wichita, KS, is looking for an experienced Chemist to join their team.

Salary: $105k - $125k plus bonus

Shift: Day Shift

Location: Wichita, KS (relocation assistance)

Position Summary

The Senior Chemist applies advanced expertise in chemistry and engineering principles to develop, formulate, and evaluate industrial lubricants for a wide range of applications. This role leverages in-depth knowledge of raw materials, production processes, analytical testing, and regulatory standards to ensure product performance, quality, and compliance.

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled laboratory professional with strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment in accordance with best practices and safety standards
  • Conduct routine and advanced testing of industrial lubricants, raw materials, and related products using sophisticated analytical instrumentation
  • Develop and optimize lubricant formulations, with a strong understanding of industry trends, materials, and performance requirements
  • Manage the introduction and qualification of new products and raw materials, ensuring adherence to established processes and specifications
  • Design, develop, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory instrumentation and product manufacturing processes
  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on laboratory equipment, coordinate with vendors for major repairs and new installations
  • Analyze, interpret, validate, and report test data in compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field
  • (master's degree preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years of laboratory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep understanding of the scientific method and experimental design
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply technical and scientific knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, including troubleshooting and coordination of repairs
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced team members
