Why This Role Exists
This role exists to support continued growth and production demand within Spirit AeroSystems' commercial aerospace programs. This position plays a critical role in producing high-precision aerostructure components used in commercial aircraft, where quality, consistency, and craftsmanship are essential.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment
Run multi-axis machining operations including milling, drilling, boring, grinding, and turning
Load, run, and adjust programs at the machine as needed
Perform deburring, inspection, and finishing work on parts
Conduct first article and in-process inspections
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust offsets, tooling, and feeds/speeds
Operate multiple machines simultaneously where applicable
Perform basic preventative maintenance (coolant levels, filters, etc.)
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and on-time delivery
Machines, Controls & Software
You'll work with equipment such as:
Machines: Modig, Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, and other multi-axis CNC machines
Controls: Fanuc, Mazatrol, and similar CNC controls
Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, bore gages, electronic measurement tools
Materials You'll Work With

What We're Looking For
2+ years of CNC multi-axis machining experience
Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-function machines
Ability to read blueprints and follow engineering specifications
Strong understanding of setups, tooling, and offsets
Comfortable inspecting parts and maintaining quality standards
Willingness to work any shift
Preferred (Not Required):
5-axis machining experience
Experience writing or editing CNC programs
Experience with high-precision aerospace components
