Shift Miller Your role:As a Shift Miller, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient production of flour within the facility. You will support the efficient and effective setting of mill equipment to optimize processing efficiencies and adherence to customer specifications.To succeed, you must be able to:Perform duties and deliver results in new situations while adhering to safety and food safety policies without compromising the team's valuesServe others with understanding, respect, and careOperate with simplicity, clarity and transparencyDeal with and drive changeOrganize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlinesLearn and apply new technology and share your knowledge with othersAbove all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.Your responsibilities:Maximize milling efficiencies in the plant daily by focusing on adjustment and operation of cleaning house and mill equipment.Monitor the entire milling process and perform basic equipment maintenance/troubleshooting tasks for all equipment related to the operation of the millPerform miscellaneous duties as assigned including working on plant teams, providing input on capital projects, and center liningMaintain sanitation standards, in accordance to policies, to provide for a safe and food safe work environmentMaintain all tools/equipment and execute processes in the 5S, Pristine AMPS standards using process tools such as Centerline, 5S, understanding loss through 5why to create continuous improvement process by determining Root Cause and Corrective Actions.Use computers to operate mill equipment, document production reports, shift reports, including mill and maintenance issuesInteract with scheduler, elevator, blender, quality team, maintenance, and packer to communicate workflow, milling schedule, and equipment issues.Essential skills and experiences:High School diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)Basic skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn and use new computer programsGood to have:Demonstrated mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting abilityUnderstanding of safety behaviors within production environmentMill Production experienceAssociates Degree, Technical or Trade certifications, IAOM Milling Coursework, or any Training and Education specific to Milling or Grain SciencesPhysical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, multiple times per dayClimb ladder, step and extensionAble to lift to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of forceFrequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder levelAbility to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodationAbility to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a dust maskAbility to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.Location: Wichita KSAddress: 715 East 13th Street, Wichita KS, 67214Employment Type: Full timeAdditional Information:Competitive Compensation: We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate's unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved.
