Attendance Secretary Pre-K8 Catholic School

The Attendance Secretary is responsible for maintaining accurate student attendance records and serving as a primary point of contact for families regarding absences, tardies, and early dismissals. This position supports the principal and school office in creating a welcoming, organized, and safe school environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Record and monitor daily attendance for all Pre-K8 students.
  • Follow up with families regarding unexplained absences and tardies.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records in the school's student information system.
  • Manage student check-in, late arrivals, and early dismissals.
  • Verify authorized adults before releasing students.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, students, teachers, and staff.
  • Prepare attendance reports as requested by administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide general office support.
  • Assist the principal and office staff with school activities and other administrative needs.
  • Follow school safety procedures and Catholic school policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous school or office experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, email, and school information systems.
  • Dependable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Catholic school.

School Level: Pre-K8

Schedule: 7:30-4:00M-F
